The Vermont Medical Society has been providing services to Vermont physicians for over 200 years.
As a pro-active member organization, VMS represents the interests of physicians and advocates on their behalf. Along with providing assistance, information and lobbying services on legislative and regulatory matters, the Society also offers a host of personal and professional services that range from a managed care contract review service to health benefits for members and their employees.
The Vermont Medical Society is organized for the following purposes:
- To serve the public by strengthening our physician members' individual and collective resolve, as well as their efforts to improve the quality of life for the people of Vermont by appropriate health services.
- To encourage the progress and aid the development of the science of medicine, and to encourage medical research.
- To promote public health.
- To encourage cooperation among physicians and surgeons, with the intent generally to elevate the standards of professional skill, care and judgment.
- To provide a means for physicians' leadership and cooperation with other agencies concerned with health care.
- To advance the general moral, social and intellectual welfare of our members.
